Temple of Heaven Tickets
The Temple of Heaven was used by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties as a sacred site to offer sacrifices to Heaven and pray for good harvests. The northern part of the temple complex is semicircular, while the southern part is square—reflecting the ancient Chinese belief that “Heaven is round and Earth is square.” Enclosed by a double wall and covering an area of 273 hectares, the Temple of Heaven is divided into the Inner Temple and the Outer Temple, with its main buildings concentrated in the Inner Temple. As a masterpiece of Ming and Qing architectural techniques, it stands as a precious example of ancient Chinese architecture and remains the world’s largest complex dedicated to heavenly worship.
