Kungfu extravaganza Shichahai, Center Stage
The kungfu show “Shichahai” is refreshingly beautiful, showcasing a unique combination of martial arts, Chinese opera and acrobatics against a backdrop of colourful sets and CG visuals. The hour-long spectacle invokes images of the Beijing Olympics’ opening ceremony, albeit on a much smaller scale.
The kung fu drama “Shichahai” depicts the story of a young man and a girl who love Chinese martial arts and ventures to trace the Chinese link of their idol “Kongfu Panda” in Beijing. It follows the footprint of the two young people and unfolds a vivid picture of the local life through martial arts, dances, music, videos, acrobatics and fashion show. The drama has a superior cast consisting of the world martial arts championships and China’s Championship Team, showcasing the latest level of Chinese martial arts.
The Chinese kungfu show Shichahai will be on stage at Chang An Grand Hotel from Oct 28.
The world kungfu champions and a nationally leading kungfu team, the show will demonstrate the highest level of this martial art. It will also present the landscapes of Shichahai, a famous place of interest in Beijing. The area is known for its beautiful lake and bands and for the kung fu masters who grew up here and trained at the Beijing Shichahai Sports School, founded in 1958. The school is one of Beijing’s main centres for training young athletes.
The show also fuses dance, acrobatics and opera.
